Disappearance of Loan Peña in Argentina: New Evidence Emerges

A dramatic twist has unfolded in the investigation into the disappearance of Loan Peña, a young boy who vanished 16 days ago in Corrientes, Argentina. According to a witness, the child was struck by a truck driven by a married couple, María Victoria Caillava and Carlos Pérez, after having lunch at his grandmother’s house. The couple allegedly loaded the child’s lifeless body into the trunk and buried it in an open field.

Search Efforts Intensify

In response to the shocking allegations, dogs, drones, and dozens of police officers from various agencies have been deployed to search for the body in a garbage dump in the town of 9 de Julio. Key Witness Account

The minor’s aunt, Laudelina Peña, broke down during an interview, describing the terrifying events that unfolded. She claimed that Caillava and Pérez struck Loan, and then buried him in the woods, allegedly threatening her not to reveal the truth. Her disturbing account has raised questions about the couple’s involvement in the disappearance and potential cover-up.

National Director Weighs in

Fernando Soto, the national director of regulations and judicial liaison of the Ministry of Security, spoke out about the case, emphasizing that while confessions are crucial, they must be proven to be true. He also hinted that the couple may have delayed the investigation, possibly to cover up a more serious crime, punishable by up to six years in prison. Soto stated that the authorities are working to determine the degree of involvement of each individual involved, including those Laudelina did not mention.
