BHD values ​​results obtained with financing for tourism

Banco BHD reported that at the 2022 International Tourism Fair (FITUR) it signed structured financing for hotel projects for US$230 million, mostly bilateral credits.

These projects represent a total investment of US$625 million for the development of tourism in the Dominican Republic, in destinations such as Santo Domingo, Miches, Uvero Alto and Cabeza de Toro. He specified that the investments will enable the creation of more than 2,500 direct jobs and more than 2,200 rooms.

Luis Molina Maríñez, Senior Vice President of Corporate and Business Banking at Banco BHD, said that “we return to FITUR this 2023 to continue our work to support the development of the country and the tourism sector, which we have been doing since 2009. I can affirm with great satisfaction that we currently have the most diversified portfolio of tourist clients in the country and that the BHD is a leader in financing city hotels and in supporting the strengthening of the complementary offer”.

Among the financing granted in 2022, the remodeling and expansion of the Zoëtry Agua Punta Cana hotel complex for US$ 35.4 million stands out, which included the advisory service in raising capital.
