Amazon Drive Announces Closing: Don't Forget To Extract Your Files If You Don't Want To Lose Them

Users still using Amazon direction they must extract their files before December 31, 2023 if they want to keep the stored content.

The Amazon Drive service is coming to an end and users need to take steps to prevent data loss. Amazon will automatically transfer photos and videos to the Amazon Photos service, but other file types will need to be manually downloaded.

Paying customers are entitled to a refund if they decide to cancel their subscription.

Amazon does not provide a file migration tool. Instead, users must manually download each file they want to extract from the website’s Amazon Drive before the service becomes inaccessible.

The Amazon Drive app will stop receiving updates and will be removed from the iOS and Android app stores on October 31, 2022. On January 31, 2023, Amazon will no longer support file uploads.

Users will be able to view and download their files until December 31, 2023. After that, the files will become inaccessible and will be deleted. Amazon urges customers to start abandoning Amazon Drive now.

Images from Amazon can only store photo and video files and has the following storage levels: 100 GB per €19.99 per year, 1 TB per € 99.99 per year, 2TB per year € 199.98 per year.

Storage plans go up to 30TB per € 2,999.70 per year for those with large storage needs.
