The world of cycling has received great news this Thursday with the news about the state of health of Julian Alaphilippe after his serious fall in Liège-Bastogne-Liège and in which the world champion suffered several fractures and a pneumothorax that made him stay in the Herentals hospital.

This pneumothorax was the main concern of the Quick-Step until this Thursday, since the team itself confirmed that Alaphilippe was already fully recovered from this pain. “After his fall in Liège-Bastogne-Liège, the world champion has undergone several tests at the Herentals hospital. These tests have revealed that the pneumothorax he suffered as a result of the crash three weeks ago is now fully healed, so Julian can now do some light training on his Tacx trainer.”

However, from the Quick-Step they remain cautious about the possible return of Alaphilippe to the competition. “His condition will continue to be monitored before any decision is made and we have yet to decide on a program for his return to competition. The Quick-Step team would like to thank the Herentals hospital team for the care shown to Julian.”
