Airlines will cancel some 1,000 flights in France on Friday due to a strike by air traffic controllers, the airline reported on Thursday. General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC).
The administration had asked airlines on Tuesday to cut their flight schedule by 50% in mainland France and abroad as a result of the strike, called by the main air traffic controllers union, calling for pay rises and new hires.
"A thousand flights will be canceled"said a DGAC spokeswoman, specifying that these are planes with departure or arrival in French territory.
