Police officers were patrolling near the site where Creole Week was taking place when they saw two men on a motorcycle performing reckless maneuvers. After telling him to stop, the subjects ignored him and fled, leading to a chase.
It ended at the intersection of Vaz Ferreira and Carlos Brussa streets Meadow from Montevideo. The police fought with the criminals and at some point one of them was attacked by a third person on horseback. Shots from a 12-gauge shotgun were reported at the scene.
The incident happened last Friday and the images were released in the last few hours.
The police officer suffered multiple injuries and was taken to the police hospital.
