915 million SHIB tokens destroyed in one week

Reportedly, over 915 million SHIB tokens have been destroyed in the past week. This becomes confirmed by Shibburn.

139 transactions to burn address

According to Shibburn, a tracker tracking the burns of Shiba Inu, a whopping 915,371,832 SHIB tokens have been destroyed in 139 different transactions. A burn is normally done by sending crypto tokens to a ‘dead wallet’. This practically removes the tokens from circulation. This is also the case with SHIB.

Large SHIB whale awakens

Also, during the past week, SHIB saw the awakening of a large SHIB whale, who had previously made no major transfers for 610 days. Reportedly, this SHIB whale owns about 10% of the total SHIB supply, amounting to about $756 million in SHIB tokens. During the week, this whale transferred 101.47 trillion SHIB (worth almost $30 million) to 8 different wallets. It is currently unknown what exactly will happen with this.

Shytoshi Kusama also announced the rebranding of the official SHIB website via Twitter.

“The redesigned SHIB website was just the beginning of a hot summer,” according to the official SHIB Twitter account, which also directly heralds the arrival of the “summer of Shibarium.”

To add to the excitement, Kusama uploaded a GIF image of a mobile device with text messaging icons to Twitter. Finally, Kusama tagged British music producer Gareth Emery and wrote “Ping Gareth Emery” next to the posted image.
