13 catchers with a home run in their first at-bat

Major League Baseball records that 13 catchers have homered in their first at-bat in the regular series, but two of them have also homered in their first time at bat in the All-Star Game. 

The first of these with this feat was Terry Steinbach, who even reinforced Licey on one occasion in the 1986-87 season. He achieved his feat on Friday, September 12, 1986, being part of the Oakland Athletics and debuted against the Indians hitting his knock against Greg Swindell in the seventh inning in that first turn he unloaded a solo homer.

He was then elected to the 1988 All-Star Game by the American League and hit a homer in his first turn in these classics, a hit that went against Dwight Gooden in the third inning.

The only other catcher to homer in his first at-bat and then do the same in his first time stepping into the pentagon was Wilson Contreras of the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, June 19, 2016, against AJ Schugel of the Chicago Cubs. Pirates, in the sixth act pinch hitting the first pitch he observed and then in his initial All-Star Games the first pitch he faced in these events hammered a home run on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 against Blake Snell in the third episode Contreras he became the only player in history to homer in his first at-bat in regular series to the first pitch and do the same in the All-Star Game.
