Youngest MLA Maithili Thakur on Minister Buzz: ‘Will Obey Party Orders’

Maithili Thakur, a newly elected legislator in Bihar, has addressed discussions about her potential role in the state government.

The 25-year-old is now the youngest member of the legislative assembly. She represents the Alinagar Assembly seat in Patna.

Thakur expressed happiness over her recent electoral victory and the party’s overall success in Bihar.

She affirmed her commitment to the party’s directives regarding any government role. “Whatever the party’s order will be, I will obey it,” Thakur stated.

This statement followed a legislative party meeting where Nitish Kumar was re-elected as the leader of the alliance. He then met with the Governor to stake a claim for government formation.

All National Democratic Alliance (NDA) legislators attended, including Thakur. She called it a significant day for the party.

Discussions are ongoing about whether the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) might offer her a ministerial position. This move is being considered a “surprise package” by political observers.

No official confirmation has been made by the party regarding such a role.
