The Xiaomi Redmi Note range of smartphones is one of the most popular in the history of the mobile device market. So far, some 320 million units have been sold worldwide, putting Xiaomi (almost) face to face with Apple.
At stake are the mid-range mobiles from the Chinese manufacturer led by Lei Jun. They are, for the moment, one of the smartphones with the best quality/price ratio on the market, although new generations such as the Redmi Note 12 bring a new price.
The Redmi Note range of smartphones is a solid and reliable option
Even so, looking at the past year 2022, we see that only the range in question was capable of competing with smartphones as popular as the Apple iPhone 14, as well as with the most advanced model from Cupertino, the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Looking back, we see that this range has been around for about ten years. They are undoubtedly among the most iconic ranges in the smartphone market and, for Xiaomi, they are a crucial element for the growth of the brand and the advancement in the market.
More recently, this Redmi range featured several models and different variants, thus ensuring that the manufacturer has an offer for every price range. At the moment, the most affordable is the Redmi Note 12 (4G) starting at €279. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro+ 5G model is already at €499, raising the bar for the mid-range segment.

Paying attention to the reports from the market analysis agency Canalys, last year’s base model, the Redmi Note 11, managed to reach the Top 10 best-selling smartphones in the world.
It did so with 18 million units sold, a figure that brings it closer to the 8th position occupied at the time by the Apple iPhone 14 Pro from the Cupertino giant.
It should be noted, however, that despite the recent success worthy of the Redmi Note 11, in recent years this range has gone through a less positive phase. Indeed, going back to 2021, the Redmi Note family would not sell more than 40 million units among all models. However, in the last three months this same range will have sold around 20 million units.
Finally, Xiaomi will not have managed to place one of its models in the Top 10 best-selling smartphones in China during the last year of 2022, according to Counterpoint.
