Xiaomi confirms that it will not launch the Xiaomi 13S in 2023

The Xiaomi 13 line of flagships was presented in China at the end of 2022. Now, with a few days to go before MWC 2023, this will be the scenario chosen by Chinese technology for the world presentation of these devices.

In the prelude to this presentation, the CEO of Xiaomi came to clarify the company’s top-of-the-range launch strategy for this year. According to Lei Jun, the Xiaomi 13S will not be released.

The Xiaomi 13S are out of the plans of Chinese technology

It was through the Weibo social network that the person in charge of Xiaomi clarified the issue of Xiaomi 13S. This year, the company will release this mid-year update, so Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will remain relevant until the arrival of Xiaomi 14.

Lei Jun did not want to say the reasons that led Xiaomi to choose this decision. She merely confirmed that the high-end “S” line will not feature new items in 2023.

In 2022, Chinese technology launched the Xiaomi 12S and Xiaomi 12S Pro on the market as a slight update to its top of the range. A series of teams that stood out for subtle adjustments in the cameras and the presence of a new processor.

This scenario will not be repeated in 2023, but that is not necessarily bad news for fans of the brand. It means that what the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro offer will be good enough to stay relevant through 2023.

Still, we expect the brand to present the Xiaomi 13 Ultra in the middle of this year. This will be the pinnacle of Chinese technology in 2023 and will be the flagship model for those looking for the best possible photography experience.

For now, let’s focus on the global launch of Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. This will happen next Sunday (February 26) with Xiaomi taking the stage at MWC 2023 to reveal all the details of the availability of these smartphones in Europe.
