The Catalan president, Pere Aragonès, and the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Alejandro Blanco, They met this Monday in Barcelona to talk about the Olympic candidacy of the Pyrenees for the 2030 Winter Olympics, as sources from the Government have explained to Efe.
The meeting, held at the Palau de la Generalitat for half an hour, comes days after the controversy surrounding the meeting that should hold last Friday Aragonès and the president of Aragonthe socialist Javier Lambán, who at the last minute decided to cancel the meeting, which had to serve to explore the possibility of submit a joint Olympic bid.
As sources from the Generalitat have explained to Efe, the meeting between Aragonès and Blanco has been “positive” and in it the president has exposed the position of his Government in favor of “work for sustainable Games and with the support and consensus of the citizens”. The meeting addressed the state of the technical work and, subsequently, Blanco has also been received by the Minister of the PresidencyLaura Vilagrà, Aragonès’s right-hand man in the Government.
