Windows 11 Update: KB5039302 Brings Sharing & Game Pass Enhancements!

Microsoft has released KB5039302 for Windows 11, bringing some minor changes for users. The official changelog outlines the updates.

One of the changes that will roll out gradually is the addition of a “Game Pass” recommendation card to the home screen. This will appear for users signed in with their Microsoft account and actively playing, affecting both Home and Pro editions of Windows 11.

Another new feature is support for Emoji 15.1, which includes new symbols and shapes for various family constellations. Additionally, the Show Desktop button is back on the taskbar by default, and users can customize this setting by right-clicking the taskbar and selecting Taskbar Settings.

Further changes include updates to File Explorer, which now allows users to create 7-Zip and Tape Archive (TAR) files from the context menu. Users can also copy files from the Windows Share window by clicking the new “Copy” button.

The update also begins the rollout of the new Account Manager in the Start menu, which provides an overview of the benefits of a Microsoft account and makes it easy to manage account settings.

In addition to these gradual changes, the update also includes immediate fixes for issues with the Snipping Tool and safe ejection of USB devices. Users can install the update by using Microsoft’s usual release channels or selecting “Check for updates” on their PC.
