Microsoft has restarted the rollout of Windows 11, version 24H2 to the Release Preview Channel with build 26100.863, as announced in a recent blog post. This comes after a brief hiatus in deliveries to insider testers in the Release Preview Channel.

The update was initially stopped a few days ago, with no clear reason given by Microsoft. However, experts speculate that the company may have halted the update to make improvements to the new Recall feature, which has raised data protection concerns due to its ability to record user actions and take screenshots.

The Recall feature is now switched off by default, and Microsoft has also restricted the user group for the 24H2 update to Copilot+ PCs. Additionally, it appears that the Recall feature is no longer included in the update.

Testers in the Release Preview Channel can download the update directly from the Windows Update catalog, or wait for the update to be automatically installed on their PCs.
