Dinesh Karthik – RCB goalkeeper batsman Dinesh Karthik could not live up to his name in IPL 2023. Not a single great tackle could be seen from his bat. Karthik is 38 years old and the effect of his age is also visible in his form. He went out for a duck four times in IPL 2023. After the loss against the Gujarat Titans, RCB captain Faf du Plessis said that Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell batted brilliantly. I also contributed. We were a bit light on the middle order to be honest. All season he fell short of a few races from the middle order side. We also missed the power hitting late innings. He further said that the most successful teams in the IPL had some powerful batsmen at number five, six and seven. We have to eliminate this deficiency.

RCB manager Sanjay Bangar said that this season the top order batted well but if the lower order batsmen could not do well in the final overs. This season did not go well for Dinesh Karthik. Had he clicked in a few matches we would have been able to add 15-20 runs in the last overs of big matches, which probably could have made the difference between winning and losing the game.
In IPL 2023, Dinesh Karthik scored just 140 runs in 13 matches. From which he zeroed out four times. Whereas last season he scored 330 runs for the RCB team and won the solo spar.
