Will Brooks, MMA superstar, comes to face “The Machine” Sojo

The superstar of Mixed Martial Arts, the American Will Brooks will come to the Dominican Republic to star in a fight against Jhonasky “La Máquina” Sojo, a Venezuelan who is making a career in Santo Domingo.

Brooks was the Bellator MMA lightweight (155 lbs) champion, with two wins over current UFC fighter Michael Chandler and also faced Carles Oliveira in the UFC.

Brooks and “La Máquina” Sojo will finish the star turn at the MMA event scheduled to be held on the 14th of this month at the Fencing Pavilion of the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, organized by the Dominican promoter Fighting Force, in partnership with the American Titán FC .

As announced by Rodolfo Dauhajre, president of Fighting Force, the card includes a total of 10 professional fights, with an international title in dispute and a women’s fight.

Brooks has a long career in MMA, having gone through the biggest organizations in the sport, such as the UFC, Bellator and PFL. He accumulates a record of 24 wins, 5 losses and one “No-Contest”.

He also has victories over great figures, such as Michael Chandler, whom he defeated twice in headline bouts, crowning himself the Bellator MMA lightweight champion. During his tenure in the UFC, he lost to Charles Oliveira, who would later become the UFC champion.

On his side, Sojo, who has declared that he will represent the flags of the Dominican Republic and Venezuela, has a record of 13 wins and only 3 losses, and is the current Fighting Force 155-pound champion.

“I have 5 wins in a row and against Brooks I will score number six,” he said. “I am prepared and I will leave my soul in the octagon because I am fighting for 2 flags, Venezuela and the Dominican Republic,” added Sojo

Dauhajre assured that the billboard will be full of national and international talents.

“We will have Olympic medalists, fighters from the UFC, Bellator and PFL, and even a former NFL player fighting in the Dominican Republic,” Dauhajre said.
