ABU DHABI: A special National Martyrs Day is being celebrated in the United Arab Emirates today, with the aim of paying homage to those who sacrificed their lives for the motherland.
In the United Arab Emirates, the ‘Day of Prayer’ is being celebrated for the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country. November 30 was designated as a day in recognition of the services of the national martyrs of the motherland.
The rulers of the UAE paid tribute to the martyrs on the occasion of the Day of Prayer.

On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, Sheikh Muhammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan said, “Today we stand to remember, praise and acknowledge our martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the independence of their land and the flag of the country.” held high.’
He said that today we pledge to fulfill our responsibilities for the children and families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the country, the sacrifices of these martyrs will always be remembered by our future generations.
Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in an emotional way on this occasion, “I also remember my brother Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who started celebrating Martyrs’ Day.”
The President of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, said: “This is an opportunity for us to deepen our patriotism towards the Emirates by remembering those who have shown loyalty to our country, and learn from our new generation, especially from the sacrifices of heroes and martyrs. And continue the journey of building and developing your country with hard work and sacrifice.’
On the occasion of the historic day, special events are being organized for the families of the martyrs, while there will also be fireworks, concerts, drone shows and parades across the country.
