Oil is the largest source of energy in the world and many countries are building pipelines to transport oil. There are 9,100 km of oil pipelines under construction in the world and an additional 21,900 km of proposed pipelines.
In this regard, a report has been released by the Global Energy Monitor, which states that many countries of the world are engaged in the construction of pipelines for the delivery of oil, but despite international restrictions, regarding the pipelines under construction. Iran is the number one in the world which is currently constructing 1978 km long oil pipelines followed by India, Niger and Canada.
According to the report, the top five major oil pipeline companies are state-owned enterprises and private companies, including Iran’s Ministry of Petroleum, China National Petroleum Corporation, Iraq’s Ministry of Oil, India’s Nomaligarh Refinery Limited, and France’s Total energy included.
It should be noted that the United States started imposing sanctions on Iran in May 2018 after the former Trump administration unilaterally withdrew from the Iran nuclear deal. These sanctions impose severe penalties on governments and entities involved in energy trade with Iran.
