WhatsApp now allows you to choose our status when we are online
This novelty was recently discovered by WABetainfo, always attentive to the purposes of WhatsApp. According to his testimony, this new function will integrate the Android, iOS and desktop versions of this communications service.
Coming soon, in the WhatsApp application settings we will find an option that will allow us to define who will know when we are online. That is, the “online” status will only be shown for contacts to whom we grant this privilege.
As the image above documents, a new section will appear in WhatsApp settings called “who can see when I’m online”. The options provided will be “all” or “same as last time online”.
In effect, the filter that you define for who can see your last online status will be inherited when you are online. This is so that only the contacts you want to know when you are, at that moment, on WhatsApp.
The reasons that will lead you to block the access of some contacts to this detail will be yours alone. There are several reasons why one or the other person should or should not know when you are online on WhatsApp.
Cases of persecution or harassment can justify the usefulness of this novelty. The truth is that there are several users who request the introduction of this option and WhatsApp finally accepts these requests.
As WABetainfo points out, it is a novelty that is still in development. The next step will be to integrate it in the beta version of the application and, later, make it available in the stable channel for all users.
