ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The Champions Trophy 2025 will be hosted by Pakistan. Where the tournament is played between 8 countries. Pakistan last hosted an ICC tournament in 1996. At that time, Pakistan was hosting the ODI World Cup along with India and Sri Lanka. But it is not yet clear whether the Indian team will tour Pakistan for this tournament. In such a situation, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has made an important statement about whether this tournament will be held outside Pakistan or not.

PCB boss explained his plan

Amid ongoing speculation over India’s participation in the Champions Trophy, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi said he is not thinking of organizing the tournament outside the country next year. Speaking to reporters during the Pakistan Super League final, Naqvi confirmed that he had spoken to BCCI secretary Jay Shah during the ICC meeting in Dubai last week. Naqvi said that although we had been talking for some time, it would not be wise to reveal details.

What would happen if Team India didn’t tour Pakistan?

Naqvi was asked whether the tournament would be organized in another country if the Indian team did not tour Pakistan. He said that at the moment I am not even thinking about organizing the tournament in another country. We are confident that we will host the Champions Trophy in Pakistan as scheduled. On the other hand, an ICC board member had recently told PTI that he would not ask India to violate the government policy of not visiting Pakistan.

PCB has started preparations for the Champions Trophy

Naqvi also said that the PCB is ready to deal with any situation as the competition approaches. In addition, he said that the stadiums of Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi will be renovated. Most Champions Trophy games will take place at these venues. India has not played a bilateral series in Pakistan since the Mumbai terror attacks in November 2008. The Indian team last came to Pakistan in June and July 2008 to take part in the Asia Cup. The Indian team had refused to tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup last year. At that time, Pakistan only hosted four matches in this tournament and the remaining matches were played in Sri Lanka.
