Team India’s star fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to back pain. Bumrah’s exit from the T20 World Cup is a huge blow to the India team. However, after Bumrah’s departure, serious questions are being raised about the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The bigger question is whether the BCCI has rushed Jasprit Bumrah back to the team.
In fact, Jasprit Bumrah was injured during the tour of England. Due to this injury, Bumrah could not be a part of the Asian Cup. During this, however, Bumrah was working on his fitness at the National Cricket Academy. Jasprit Bumrah was called up for the T20 series against Australia in view of the preparations for the T20 World Cup.
However, Jasprit Bumrah was not part of the 11 players in the first match of the T20 series against Australia. Bumrah participated in the second and third matches of T20. But Bumrah was also out of the first T20 match against South Africa. While posting an update on Bumrah’s fitness, the BCCI had said that due to back pain, Bumrah was unable to play the first T20 match against South Africa.
In such a situation, the question arises that if Jasprit Bumrah was not fully fit, why was he brought back into the team? If BCCI had given Bumrah 20 more days to work on his fitness due to his retirement from the team, then what wouldn’t be better for him and the India team. But due to the BCCI rush, Bumrah is now out of the T20 World Cup.
This is not the first time this has happened with Bumrah. Also in 2019, Bumrah was out of the team due to back pain. Even then, it took a long time for Bumrah to return to the team. Even now such information is coming to light that it may take about 6 months for Bumrah to return to the team.
