vivo Y300i Released: Budget Phone Packs Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, 6500mAh Battery

The Chinese market has just welcomed the latest addition to vivo’s Y series, the Y300i. This budget-friendly smartphone is an upgrade to the 2024 Y200i, boasting an improved battery, 5G support, and a higher refresh rate display. The Y300i sticks to vivo’s classic design language for affordable phones, featuring a 6.68-inch LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display is punctuated by a punch-hole cutout for the 5-megapixel front camera.

Flipping the phone over, you’ll find a 50-megapixel primary camera (f/1.8) on the rear, although details about the secondary sensor – whether it’s an ultrawide lens or not – remain under wraps. Under the hood, the Y300i relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, fabricated using 4nm technology, which offers a maximum processing speed of 2.2 GHz. This is paired with an Adreno 613 GPU, up to 24GB of RAM, and UFS 2.2 storage that maxes out at 512GB.

The vivo Y300i is equipped with a sizable 6,500mAh battery, supporting 44W fast charging. Despite its capacious battery, the phone measures just 8.09-8.19mm in thickness and weighs between 205-206 grams, depending on the version. It also features Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, NFC, and a USB-C port for connectivity.

This new smartphone comes in three color options: Jade Black, Titanium, and Rime Blue. It’s set to hit the Chinese market on March 14, 2025, with the following price tags:

  • 8GB/256GB: 1,499 yuan, approximately 7,000 THB
  • 12GB/256GB: 1,599 yuan, approximately 7,500 THB
  • 12GB/512GB: 1,799 yuan, approximately 8,400 THB
