The grand finale of the Tactician’s Crown, the Teamfight Tactics (TFT) championship for set 13 – Dive into Arcane, took place on Sunday, and it was there that the new set was announced. Our team at Pichau Arena got an exclusive sneak peek at the upcoming set, Cidade Cibernética, and had the chance to test out the new features that will be hitting the Public Beta Environment (PBE) on March 18th.
Set 14 of TFT – Cidade Cibernética
The star of the show in this new set is the “Hack” mechanic. According to the set’s storyline, the game’s system has been invaded, and throughout each match, numerous “hack incidents” occur, such as the Hacks de Aprimoramentos, which change the dynamics of player choice. The Carrosséis Bugados are back with several surprises, including additional items, bigornas, and even Golens-Sentinelas. Riot Games explains that “hacks will be distributed equally throughout the lobby, ensuring everyone experiences the same level of chaos.”
New Features in Set 14
Some of the new characteristics in this set include:
- Demônio Urbano: Activate Demônios Urbanos houses to strengthen your champions. Units positioned in these marked houses receive double attributes, and exclusive houses grant even more power.
- Esquadrão Anima: Choose from an arsenal of weapons inspired by the Enxame mode in League of Legends. These weapons fire automatically in combat, changing the course of battle when you need it most. This squad includes Vayne, Yuumi, Leona, and Aurora.
- Boi Dourado: Boi Dourado champions amplify damage and grant gold during combat. Stack your gold to increase bonuses permanently, but be prepared to save for the next round of reinvestment.
- Cifra: Cifra champions gather information when they lose fights or take down enemies, and you can trade this information for loot in specific rounds. The more Cifra champions you recruit, the more information you’ll have at your disposal.
- Transgressor: Upgrade a Transgressor champion with a Rei do Crime hat to potentiate their abilities. With 5 Transgressors, choose another Rei do Crime and strengthen them further. With 7 Transgressors, your Reis do Crime become even stronger and receive additional benefits.
- Ciberchefões (Yordles): Cidade Cibernética introduces the Ciberchefões, a new Yordle faction that grows larger and more powerful as you level up. These Yordles cause chaos with abilities that scale up in their giant form.
New Competitive Features in TFT
It was also announced that there will be a new tier in the competitive ecosystem, running parallel to Tactician Trials and Tactician’s Cups. To qualify for this new class, pro players will need to compete in regional series for the Cidade Cibernética set. According to Riot Games, the goal is to “create a more stable professional scene.”
Duplas Dinâmicas and the Return of Desafios da Horuja
For the delight of Duplas Dinâmicas fans, the mode is here to stay and becomes a permanent feature. To replace the Lealdade rune, the Canhão Conjunto arrives, allowing teammates to send items and champions (of the same tier) to each other. As for the PvE experience, Desafios da Horuja, there are updates coming to allow players to learn more about the set without the pressure of a timer. The mode will be available throughout the entire Cidade Cibernética season.
