India’s former captain Virat Kohli congratulated India’s medal winners and participants on Tuesday for their best performance at Birmingham 2022. India finished fourth in the medal table with 22 gold, 15 silver and 23 bronze medals at the Games. of the Commonwealth which concluded on Monday.
Kohli shared a picture on his Ku account, in which all the Indian athletes can be seen celebrating after winning the medal. Kohli wrote on Twitter: “You have brought laurels to our nation. Congratulations to all our winners and participants of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. We are so proud of you. Jai Hind.”

India won 61 medals this time. Although India could not top its Gold Coast Games medal tally, this season has seen a stellar performance from the Indian contingent at this edition of the Games, despite the absence of shooting.
India finished the tournament by securing 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze on the final day. In 2010, when the Games were held on home soil, there were a total of 101 medals for India.
The hockey team had to be satisfied with the silver medal as they lost 7-0 to Australia. The Indian midfielder was excellent throughout the game as he got 6 medals (3 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze) in 6 categories. He couldn’t win medals in mixed doubles alone.
