The Vice President and Foreign Minister of Colombia, Marta Lucía Ramírez, will visit between this Thursday and Friday Paraguay, after the murderlast week, on an island in the Colombian Caribbean of the Paraguayan anti-mafia prosecutor Marcelo Pecci.

This was reported this Tuesday in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and indicated that the visit "is exclusively to talk about bilateral and regional security issues".

The official will also address the Pecci murder casewho lost his life at the hands of unknown assailants who shot him on May 10 on a private beach where he was spending his honeymoon.

Ramírez, who will arrive in Paraguayan territory on Wednesday night, has scheduled meetings with the country’s president, Mario Abdo Benítez, and his vice president, Hugo Velásquez.

He will also meet with the Paraguayan Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Julio César Arriola; of the Interior, Federico González; of Defense, General Bernardino Soto Estigarribia; and the country’s attorney general, Sandra Quiñónez, added the note.

The Colombian Police, which works jointly with the Paraguayan and the American, investigates as a first hypothesis that Pecci He was assassinated due to his work as a prosecutor.

Pecci, whose body arrived in the country on saturday from the Colombian city of Cartagena de Indias, was buried on Sunday.

That day, friends and family accompanied the coffin in a caravan of vehicles through Asunción, which toured the places most appreciated by the official, whose death has shaken the country.
