Militares venezolanos incautan 10 kilos de marihuana en frontera con Colombia

Venezuelan soldiers seized 10 kilos of marijuana in the state of Táchira (west), bordering Colombia, from a group of "terrorist drug traffickers" from the Andean country, reported this Wednesday the operational strategic commander of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), Domingo Hernández Lárez. In his Twitter account, the official pointed out that, during the operation, the agents of the military institution seized the drug from members of a group "tancol"who, "seeing themselves cornered, they fled and left the material abandoned".

"Tancol" is an acronym invented by the Venezuelan Government that does not refer to any specific band and that means "armed terrorists Colombian drug traffickers". This Tuesday, Hernández Lárez reported the arrest, in the same border region, of a Colombian citizen with more than 8 kilos of marijuana that "was trying to market" in the Caribbean country. Last September, FANB officials seized 2,856.85 kilos of marijuana -the largest consignment of this drug in the last decade- in Falcón state (northwest), transported by 12 Venezuelans who had been hired by Colombians in Alta Guajira. From the beginning of the year until then, the security forces intercepted 36,527 kilograms of different drugs, mainly cocaine, which represents an increase of 29.16% compared to the same period in 2021, according to Hernández Lárez.
