Velocity captain Deepti Sharma revealed what plan she'll be working on

The multi-talented Deepti Sharma, who captained Velocity in the Women’s T20 Challenge to be held at MCA Stadium, revealed that she is looking forward to playing in the final of the tournament. For the first time in the tournament, Deepti Mithali will take over the leadership of Velocity in the absence of Mithali Raj.

Deepti said, “I want to give my best in all three departments of the tournament. As the captain, I want to take all the players with me and play the finals on a platform like this. As the captain, it really is a big deal.” What I’m thinking right now is how to get to the final of the tournament.”

Deepti further revealed that she is working on her power hitting skills after the conclusion of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in New Zealand and hinted at opening batting for Velocity in the Women’s T20 Challenge.

He said: “After the World Cup, I worked a bit on my power shot with the coaches and also worked on the inside shots. I hope you see me doing that. I have worked both domestically and before (for India). Opening. I like to hit at the top of the order because you have time and the power play continues.”

Deepti feels that the three-team event will provide a good experience for domestic players who will be playing for the first time. From the Velocity team, Nagaland starter Kiran Navgire, along with Maharashtra leg spinner Maya Sonawane and left arm spinner Arti Kedar, are the best in the Senior Women’s T20 League.
