Valencia Drops Out of Euroleague 2023

Valencia Basket will not be among the 18 teams competing in the Euroleague next season. The team had been waiting for an invitation from the competition, but it was finally confirmed that the German team will be the one to receive the remaining wild card. This means that Valencia will have to play in the Eurocup and win the competition to secure a spot in the Euroleague next season.

The Euroleague will feature three Spanish teams, including Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Baskonia, as well as three French teams, including ASVEL Villeurbanne, Monaco, and Paris Basketball. The competition will also feature two teams from Germany, two from Serbia, two from Italy, two from Turkey, two from Greece, and one team from Israel and Lithuania.

As a result of not being selected for the Euroleague, Valencia has been included in the Eurocup, a second-tier continental competition that serves as a qualifying tournament for the Euroleague. The team will be joined by Joventut and Gran Canaria, who also played in the Eurocup last season.

The Eurocup will feature 18 teams, including seven teams from Europe, and will provide a platform for teams to compete and potentially earn a spot in the Euroleague.
