Former Afghan National Security Adviser Hamdullah Mohib says the Taliban managed to take control of Kabul as a result of a peace deal with the United States.

Hamdullah said that former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani left the country when his life was in danger. He said his government had credible intelligence that the Taliban were planning to come to Kabul and assassinate the president.

He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture, but that his confession had been obtained through torture.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken said in an interview in October that Ashraf Ghani had assured him a day before he left that he would stay in the country and that he was ready to fight to the last.

The former Afghan adviser said that on the day the Taliban entered Kabul, it was not clear whether the Taliban would sit down for talks with the government delegation, nor was there any guarantee that the Taliban would accept a negotiated solution. ۔

Hamdullah Mohib further said that his government did not want a war in Kabul which would have destroyed the city and killed thousands of people. He said Abdullah, head of the government’s negotiating team, had said on his return from Doha after talks with the Taliban that the Taliban did not believe in peace.

It should be noted that the Taliban had captured the capital Kabul on August 15 this year even before the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan was completed. Hamdullah Mohib and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, along with other officials, fled the country.

It should be noted that US Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmai Khalilzad said in an interview that the Taliban had agreed to form a comprehensive government with the Afghan government delegation. However, according to him, on the day the agreement was to be announced, Ashraf Ghani went abroad without informing his close associates.

Earlier, former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had said that he had invited the Taliban to protect Kabul after fleeing the country.
