Taiwanese media reports that, while participating in a debate on the topic ‘Banning digital authoritarianism and upholding democratic values’, Tang said that governments should work with civil institutions to achieve a digital democracy that reduces the various challenges facing the world. . At the conclusion of the summit, Biden said: “As we conclude this Summit for Democracy, I want to send a final message that we know how difficult the work ahead will be. But we also know that we are up to the challenge.”

He said the two-day digital gathering has shown that the democratic world is everywhere. Biden said that autocracy can never extinguish the spark of freedom that burns in the hearts of people around the world, in all parts of the world. He added: “We are committed to working with all who share those values, to shape the rules of the road that will guide our progress in the 21st century, including cybersecurity. In recent weeks, China’s Foreign Ministry, with its aggressive approach to the summit, issued a lengthy statement accusing the United States of division in the name of democracy. “Inciting division and conflict in the name of democracy is a return to history and will bring nothing but confusion and disaster to the world,” the statement said. He said the United States has long been imposing its political system and values ​​on others, pushing for so-called “democratic reforms,” ​​abusing unilateral sanctions and inciting “color revolutions,” whose “disastrous consequences.”

The world media use the term “color revolution” to describe the attempted or successful change of various protest movements and governments. It has become a weapon of genocide. “He also said that the US ‘Summit for Democracy'” drew the ideological line and turned democracy into a tool and a weapon. ”

The statement said that the United States “tried to thwart democracy under the guise of democracy, inciting division and confrontation, and diverting attention from its internal problems. Pakistan was also invited to attend the summit along with India and the Maldives, but did not attend. He likely took this step after Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi called his Pakistani counterpart, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, late in the evening on December 4. China’s foreign minister is believed to have criticized the meeting over the phone, saying the US goal is not to strengthen democracy but to establish hegemony.
