Uber will launch its new Uber Explore service in Europe. Through this service, users of the company they will be able to consult information on leisure and free time activities, book restaurants and buy tickets to musicals, concerts, shows and experiences.
Uber Explore will also allow users to access exclusive discounts and book their trip with a single click. The activities, leisure proposals and tourist destinations that Uber Explore shows to the user will be personalized according to their past use of the app and their preferences.
With the arrival of Uber Explore in Europe, Uber takes another step towards its goal of become the world reference app in leisure and tourism. It is also close to becoming a key tool for planning leisure and entertainment activities for its 115 million users in more than 70 countries. In fact, 30% of Uber users do not look for a specific address when ordering their ride. They simply search for the name of a place, such as a restaurant, bar, museum, store or tourist point of interest.
What do we know about Uber Explore?
Madrid has been chosen as the first European city to have the Uber Explore service. So far it is only available in beta in the United States and Mexico City. The Spanish capital stands out as one of the cities that has recovered its demand levels the fastest after the global pandemic.
Uber thus reinforces its commitment to leisure and culture in Spain, coinciding with the arrival of summer and the consequent massive influx of tourists to the capital. According to a company study, arrivals at Madrid-Barajas airport increased by 55% in June 2021 compared to the same month in 2019. In addition, the city became the preferred destination for tourists from France, the US and the UK.

The various features of Uber Explore will be available gradually over the next few weeks. They will be possible thanks to collaboration agreements with strategic partners, such as Foursquare, for place recommendations.

Uber announced the launch of Uber Travel in the United States and the United Kingdom. This new service integrates the user’s Gmail account and automatically imports all of their travel information into the Uber app. In this way, it allows you to book trips in advance and view all the sections of your itinerary (flights, hotels, trips and restaurants) from a single place.
In February of this year, Uber announced the extension of its Reserve service for trips originating at the Madrid-Barajas airport. With Black Airport Reserve, the user has greater control over their travel experience, thanks to the integration of flight information in real time.
