Abu Dhabi: The 27-year record of rainfall in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has been broken.
According to the Emirati media, the series of heavy rains that started yesterday in the United Arab Emirates is still continuing intermittently, heavy rains were recorded in the state of Sharjah, Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, while light rains also occurred in Jebel Ali.
The Emirati National Center for Meteorology says the UAE has recorded its heaviest rainfall in 27 years.
According to Arab media, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are affected by heavy rains, after which flooding has occurred.

Normal life has been badly affected due to heavy rains, highways have turned into ponds while many areas are submerged and vehicles submerged.
According to the National Center of Meteorology, the highest rainfall recorded in Fujairah was 255 mm. Due to the flood situation in Fujairah, UAE Vice President Sheikh Mohammed issued a redalert in the state and directed immediate relief operations.
