The air force Uruguay (FAU) is investigating the intrusion criminal Arming Carrasco’s 1st Air Brigade and stealing a FAL rifle from one of the air base guards.
The incident occurred this Thursday at around 11:55 p.m. During the incident, one of the guards was neutralized by the people who took his service weapon before fleeing, FAU reported in a statement.
The soldier concerned reported that she saw two people on a motorcycle driving along the route and on a second pass they entered the gate of the aviation museum armed and jumped over the facility’s perimeter fence.
FAU is trying to determine the identity of those who entered the military unit and has taken the necessary measures to ensure the security of facilities and personnel.
