The famous Broadway musical, “Disenchanted”successfully premiered on its first weekend, having a full house in each of its performances that filled “The Blue Room” on the fifth floor of Blue Mall Santo Domingo with laughter and applause.
This musical comedy that was presented for the first time in 2015, returned under the production of Theamus and directed by Luis Marcell Ricart, who united on stage tremendous actresses and singers such as Tueska, Laura Rivera, Carolina Jiménez, Graciella Dietsch, Cynthia Brens and Rosa Aurora, who this time had the opportunity to repeat.
These women are responsible for bringing to life the stories of the emblematic Disney princesses, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Belle, Hua Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Pocahontas, Rapunzel, Jazmin, among others, to tell in a humorous and very out of place the truth of their lives, facing a story that was not really how they told it.
The Colombian Tueska embodied the main character of this story, Snow White, who together with princesses Cinderella (Carolina Jiménez) and Sleeping Beauty (Laura Rivera), present each of the princesses, but are also the center that gives life to the same, always being in most of the scenes and experiencing unexpected situations.
The public that gathered could enjoy laughing while the characters develop their performance of boredom and rebellion against the many years of “exploitation” that they have been suffering in films and storybooks, hence the allusion to the title of this production. .
This joint protest of the guild of cartoon royalty riots the stage every second with their gestures, sounds, sometimes risqué vocabulary and their constant fight against what they call “the princess complex”.
The Disney satire that is back on stage, arrives with the same theme, varying some small points so that they are in keeping with the times, giving a very special touch to this work that has been able to enchant all the public that has been able to enjoy it.
“Disenchanted”, the Broadway musical will be performing this weekend from Thursday to Saturday starting at 8:30 pm at night, and tickets are still on sale through Uepatickets, Nacional and Jumbo Supermarkets.
