Trump says he will be arrested Tuesday for a sex scandal

Donald Trump estimates that he could be arrested in the next few hours, an unprecedented situation for a former president of the United States. Neither the Russian plot, nor having fueled a coup with the seizure of the Capitol are the reasons that keep the tycoon awake, but the bribed a porn actress.

Trump himself anticipated that he believes he will be arrested next Tuesday. He stated this in these hours through Truth Social, the social network that he created after being expelled from Twitter. The former Republican president called to protest in the streets for his eventual arrestsomething reminiscent of the call for the tragic events of January 6, 2021.

“THE LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE AND FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK.” Thus, with a capital letter, Trump announced what could happen, based on an alleged leak from the State Attorney’s office of New York in Manhattan, which is investigating a probable bribery of a porn actress in the run-up to the 2016 elections.

There is formally no indication that Trump will be arrested, although the authorities have made security preparations in the event of an indictment. There has been no talk of deadlines regarding an indictment. Trump’s lawyer told CNBC Friday that his client would turn himself in to face criminal charges if a Manhattan grand jury indicted him..

The case in question refers to the alleged payment in 2016 to two women so that they would not talk about sexual encounters that they would have had with Trump ten years before the bribe. Trump would have thus sought to clean up his image and avoid a scandal in the campaign that deposited him in the White House. Michael Cohen, a former Trump lawyer, is one of the witnesses, and he was the one who spoke of the payment to the women.

There is talk of 130 thousand dollars to Stormy Daniels, so that the woman did not reveal her relationship with the billionaire. Daniels’ attorney, Clark Brewster, confirmed on Twitter that she had met with investigators.. “Stormy responded to questions and agreed to make herself available as a witness or if needed by the future investigation,” Brewster said.

The probable arrest of Trump, which would be a fact, is precedent as a former head of state of the leading world power, raised alarms on the right. Newt Gingricch, icon of the most conservative Republicans, showed his solidarity on Twitter.

“Arresting President Trump for a 2016 event that is of dubious illegality is another sign of the madness of the left. Arresting a former and future president is an act of hate and poison and will further strengthen support for Trump as he discredits the left. Remember Hunter Biden!” wrote the former speaker of the House of Representatives, while alluding to the son of the current president, accused of influence peddling for business in Ukraine.
