Trump Extends TikTok Sale Deadline by 75 Days for US Company Acquisition

US President Donald Trump has given TikTok a 75-day extension to sell its business to a US company. This is the second time Trump has pushed back the deadline.

originally set for April 5. Trump explained on Truth Social that the extension is needed because the deal requires time to ensure it’s approved by all parties. The US wants to work honestly with China, and several US investors are interested in buying TikTok, including Oracle, Blackstone, Walmart, and Amazon.

Earlier, former President Joe Biden signed a law requiring ByteDance to sell TikTok by January 19 or face a US ban. Trump then extended the deadline to April 5 and now to June 17.

According to anonymous sources, China put the deal on hold after Trump announced tariffs on goods from around the world, including China. ByteDance representatives called the White House to say China won’t approve the deal until trade and tariff issues are discussed.
