What seemed impossible due to the passage through the eastern zone of Hurricane Fiona, became a reality. The Bulls formally opened their preseason training sessions at the Francisco Micheli Stadium in La Romana with around 20 players.

Manager Pat Listach welcomed the players to the Corral along with his coaching staff, including Phil Regan, who will be leading pitching workouts as pitching coach Dave Lundquist finishes his job with the Philadelphia Phillies at the big team. “It was a great surprise to see this number of players on the first day, especially considering the situation that the country experienced just a day before,” said Listach. “I liked what I saw, these guys are in good physical condition and we are waiting for them to integrate more,” he added.

Fortunately, neither the infrastructure nor the stadium grounds were damaged due to the battering of Hurricane Fiona.

Among the pitchers who met on the first day are Pedro Vásquez, Joel Inoa, Edgar García and José Ramírez. Infielders Pedro Florimon, Alen Hanson, Manuel Peña and outfielders Steven Moya and Rosell Herrera, among others, were also present.

Randy Florentino, catcher chosen in the last Rookie Draft, was also on the first day with fellow mask Luis Bernardo, signed in the offseason as a free agent. The Bulls are the first team to open their training sessions, they will have their first preseason games next week with a view to preparing for the season that begins on October 15.
