According to a report from TMZ Sports, Brady could be both a minority owner and a player for the Raiders. Unfortunately, the decision to return to the field isn’t entirely up to the seven-time Super Bowl winner.
First, three-quarters of league owners must approve minority purchase of Brady and then, in an entirely different vote, three-quarters of the NFL must approve whether or not he would be allowed to play. This means that 24 of the 32 owners should vote for Brady twice.
The complicating situation Brady’s return to activity is that the next owners’ meeting is scheduled for October. The regular season will begin on September 7 with the duel between the Detroit Lions and the Kansas City Chiefs.
TB12 has made it clear on multiple occasions that he would not return to the field after retiring for the second time in February of this year. However, Garoppolo’s foot injury opens a small window for him to play one more season in the NFL.
