White Sox star shortstop Tim Anderson is reportedly missing significant playing time with a torn ACL in his hand, according to a report by Russell Dorsey of Bally Sports.
According to Daryl van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun Times, Anderson appears to have been injured in his last at-bat in Saturday’s game against the Rangers. On Sunday, the gunboat went to have his hand checked to learn more about the situation.
The club has not confirmed the report.
After hitting .301/.339/.395 with six homers, 25 RBIs and 13 stolen bases for the year, Anderson could be out for up to six weeks.
The White Sox have a record of 55-53 and are located two games behind the Twins for the top of the American League Central Division and 2.5 games away from the third Wild Card of the Young Circuit.
