The Major Leagues register three teams in their statistics as the only ones to have three pitchers with 200 strikeouts in the same season.

The first to gather these pitchers were the Minnesota Twins in the 1967 campaign, their total pitching fanned 1,089, this figure being led by Dean Chance with 220 strikeouts, followed by Jim Kaat who fanned 211 and Dave Boswell had 204. Of the group, Chance was the only one to reach 20 wins.

In 1969 the Houston Astros struck out 1,221 in total and this group was led by Don Wilson, who struck out 235, followed by Larry Dierker with 232 and who was the only one to win 20 and Tom Griffin, who finished with 200 and the third set to achieve it were the Detroit Tigers in 2013, where that team struck out a total of 1,428 times to the opponent, led by Max Scherzer, who struck out 240, Justin Verlander, with 227 and Aníbal Sánchez fanned 202.

Crawford is still the 3-point leader

Sam Crawford played for the Cincinnati Reds and the Detroit Tigers.

Despite retiring in 1917, Crawford still holds the record for 309 triples. He achieved it in his 19 years as a player, of which he played four with the Cincinnati Reds and 15 with the Detroit Tigers.

In addition to his record, he has the mark of 12 homers inside the park, and was the first player to lead the American League and the National League in home runs.
