the british Jamie Chadwick (JennerRacing) won this Saturday the third test of the W Series -the women’s single-seater championship-, which was held at the Montmeló circuit (Barcelona), within the framework of the races that take place at the same time as the Spanish Formula 1 Grand Prix; where the three Spanish, Belén García, Marta García and Nerea Martí, finished, in that order, in positions from sixth to eighth.
Chadwick, who had started from pole position, since on Friday he had celebrated his 24th birthday by dominating qualifying, reinforced his leadership in the competition that he had won the past two years by winning ahead of her compatriots Abbi Pulling (Racing X) and Alice Powell (Click2Drive Bristol), who finished second and third, respectively, in the Catalan circuit.
Belén García (Quantfury W Series Team) from Barcelona finished sixth, just ahead of her compatriots Marta García (Cortdao Racing W Series Team), a native of Denia (Alicante), who was seventh; and the Valencian Nerea Martí (Quantfury W Series Team), who finished eighth. The next race of the women’s single-seater championship will be held the first weekend of July at Silverstone (England), coinciding with the British Formula 1 Grand Prix.
