Three dead from tornadoes and strong storms in central US

Storms Devastating events shook three central states USA Officials in the region reported that massive tornadoes formed that Thursday night, killing at least three people.

Severe storms hit the neighboring states of Kentucky, Indiana and Ohio.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), more than 13 million people in this central part of the country were under a tornado watch.

“We have three confirmed deaths,” Sheriff Randall Dodds of Logan County in western Ohio told a CBS affiliate.

“The devastation has been so great that we need to bring heavy equipment to these areas to be able to move this material to where the houses have collapsed to see if anyone is injured,” he added.

The television networks ABC and NBC broadcast police reports on Thursday evening that a tornado had allegedly hit a mobile home park in the city of Winchester, Indiana, killing three people.

However, Indiana police later said at a news conference early Friday that they had “no knowledge” of any deaths.

The US Weather Service also reported a “very dangerous half-mile wide tornado” that broke out in the state of Ohio.

Another hit the rural western Ohio town of Indian Lakes.

“It’s pure devastation. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life,” Amber Fagan, president of the Indian Lakes Chamber of Commerce, told Columbus ABC television station.

“The center is bad. It’s very bad,” he added.

Fallen trees, broken glass and downed power lines littered the streets.

The storms moved across the Ohio Valley and spawned tornadoes in several areas.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said on social media that another tornado passed through the cities of Gallatin and Trimble in his state with no fatalities.

The impressive phenomenon, which is very difficult to predict, is relatively common in the United States, especially in the central and southern parts of the country.
