They send 50 soldiers to support the search for missing children

Bogotá (BLAZETRENDS).- The Colombian authorities sent 50 Special Forces soldiers this Friday to support the search for the four children who disappeared after a plane crash that occurred on May 1 in the jungle in the south of the country, which left three adults dead. .

The Military Forces detailed in a statement that the commandos left the department of Antioquia (northwest) for San José del Guaviare, capital of the department of Guaviare (south), where the unified command post (PMU) that works in the search for children.

“These Commandos will be inserted today to support the search for the four minors who have disappeared since May 1st,” the Armed Forces said.

Search efforts for missing children

The Cessna 206 plane, operated by the Avianline Charter’s company and in which seven people were on board, disappeared from radar on May 1.

Last Monday the aircraft, which suffered an alleged engine failure while flying between Araracuara, a remote town located on the border between the departments of Caquetá and Amazonas, and San José del Guaviare, was located in a rural area of ​​the Palma Rosa hamlet of the municipality of Solano (Caquetá) with three of its deceased occupants.

It then remains to locate four minors: Lesly Mucutuy, 13 years old; Soleiny Mucutuy, 9; They have Noriel Ronoque Mucutuy, 4, and Cristin Neriman Ranoque Mucutuy, 11 months, whom rescuers believe are in the jungle looking for help.

Where the accident occurred is a thick and rainy area that makes the search work carried out by more than 100 members of the Military Forces more difficult, along with three dogs trained in search and tracking, as well as indigenous people from the region, all supported by by helicopters.

In this sense, the Military Forces detailed this Friday that last night and in the early hours of today the uniformed officers carried out from helicopters “taping work to guide the minors”, so that “they know that the search has not stopped”.

“Operation Hope is a humanitarian effort by the Military Forces and the institutions that seeks to locate and rescue these little ones,” the information added.

Findings of the authorities

This week the Army and the Civil Aeronautics (Aerocivil) found “a shelter built improvised with sticks and branches”, where they found some “scissors and some ‘bow tie’ that women usually use to hold their hair”, and even pieces of of fruits that supposedly could have been consumed by the children.

Before, in another place, a dog that is part of the search found a bottle, which is presumed to have been used to feed the baby. The plane was found upside down, indicating that the crew may have attempted to land on gigantic trees with huge roots in an emergency.

They also found new footprints near a stream, which could be those of the four missing children.
