They identify the body of one of two clowns who disappeared in Guatemala

The body of one of two clowns who have disappeared since May 9 in Guatemala was identified this Friday by local authorities and relatives of the victim, after being found in a state of decomposition in a clandestine garbage dump along with another corpse.

This is Joselin Chacón Lobo, whose stage name was "sparky"and who disappeared on May 9 along with her husband, Nelson Villatoro Escobar, also known as "puddle"and who is presumed to be the other corpse, in the absence of official confirmation.

Chacón Lobo’s mother, Victoria de Los Ángeles Lobo, identified her daughter’s body this Friday at the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), as confirmed to journalists.

The two bodies were found Thursday in a settlement called Luz de Cristo de Villa Lobos, south of the Guatemalan capital, along with their personal identification documents and the paintings they used for their presentations.

However, only the body "sparky" Until now, he has been officially identified by his relatives at Inacif, in the midst of an atmosphere of pain and tears from his relatives.

Villatoro Escobar and Chacón Lobo did not return home after allegedly appearing in a prison in the department of Escuintla, located some 50 kilometers south of Guatemala City, as official sources indicated in that month.

Both were originally from the municipality of Amatitlán, located in the south of this Central American country, considered one of the most violent nations in Latin America. So far the motive for the kidnapping and murder of the Guatemalan comedians is unknown.

In the last 18 years, approximately 48,000 people have disappeared in Guatemala and more than half of them are women, according to data from the humanitarian organization Mutual Support Group (GAM).
