They deceived a woman with her uncle’s story and took 200,000 pesos from her

A 67-year-old woman was scammed Uncle’s story in the neighborhood area Cable. The victim gave 200,000 pesos in cash to a woman at the corner of José Enrique Rodó and Acevedo Díaz.

The modus operandi repeats itself. The victim received a call from a man who identified himself as his nephew and told him to hand over all his savings because the bills were no longer in circulation and he had to give out the change.

“It ruined me,” said the woman, who is retired, receives a minimum pension and lives alone. The fraudsters took their entire savings. “I’m going to start from scratch and put it back together again,” the victim said resignedly in a conversation with him Underlined.

Now the police are looking for a tall woman with black hair who received the victim’s money in a vehicle.
