The Bolivian Police arrested this Friday the dean of a rural academic faculty dependent on the state Gabriel René Moreno University in the department of Santa Cruz, accused of the rape of two university students.
The arrest warrant was executed against Marco VC, 45, who was the dean of the Integral Faculty of Chiquitanía located in the rural population of Yapacaní, reported the departmental prosecutor, Roger Mariaca.
The official specified that the arrest was made after the assessment of the psychological interviews with the victims and the forensic report, among other evidence.
The complaint of the fact was presented this Tuesday before the Special Force to Fight Violence (Felcv) by the victims, reported the prosecutor investigating the case, Silvia Flores.
The prosecutor specified that the main defendant, together with another teacher, invited the young women to his home in the city of Santa Cruz and offered them "alcoholic beverages that made them lose consciousness" and then "the subjects proceeded to commit the rape".
Although initially nothing was known about the main defendant, the Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the dean "appeared spontaneously" before the Police and was placed under arrest pending the precautionary hearing.
Meanwhile, actions are being taken to arrest the teacher co-author of the sexual assault.
The lawyer for the university students pointed out that there are more victims and that it is possible that they will also file a complaint.

The Bolivian Government declared this management as the "Year of the Cultural Revolution for Depatriarchalization for a Life Free of Violence Against Women" in which measures are taken to combat these crimes.
