Dubai: The United Arab Emirates topped the list of 9 indicators of gender balance, achieving significant milestones in the field of women.

According to the details, the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Center (FCSC) has announced that in the progress achieved in Goal 5 of the (Sustainable Development Goals 2021), the UAE ranks first among the 9 indicators of gender balance. Which is clear evidence of gender balance in the UAE.

The UAE has sharply reduced gender inequality, with an 8-point improvement in the UN Development Programme’s index last year.

According to officials, the UAE has taken major steps to eliminate gender inequality at various levels, including representation of women in parliament, elimination of sex and gender discrimination in the workplace, enacting laws against harassment, and childbirth. Officials say that in addition to these measures, legislation has been enacted against domestic violence, banning the firing of pregnant women, and now allowing women to run businesses as empowered as men. The UAE ranked first in the top 9 indexes globally.
