The UN is calling for an investigation into the mass graves found in Gaza since the Israeli offensive began

The UN considers it “necessary” an investigation into the mass graves found in recent days under the rubble of two hospitals in Gaza, Al-Shifa and Nasserthe spokesman for the General Secretariat said at a press conference, Stephane Dujarric.

“We need a clear, credible and transparent investigation”said Dujarric, adding that several UN agencies could be responsible for its implementation and that the results of this eventual investigation should in no way be biased before seeing them.

But also “We need more journalists who can do their work safely in Gaza“And let the facts tell,” alluding to the information blockade in the Gaza Strip, where the Israeli army only allows entry to some reporters embedded in its ranks.

At least 310 bodies have already been exhumed from several mass graves in the courtyards of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, from where Israeli troops withdrew in early April after four months of fighting in the area.

The mass graves found in Al-Shifa Hospital contained more than 200 bodies.
