Club Atlético Licey continued to develop its social responsibility program, “Licey con la Comunidad”, with the “Mañana de Campeones” activity, held this Wednesday, November 23, at the Rosa Emilia Sánchez Pérez de Tavares National Cancer Institute (INCART).
Dozens of children were present and participated in various activities together with the Club’s general manager, Mr. Audo Vicente, and the players Ronny Mauricio, Jean Carlos Mejía and Arodys Vizcaíno, who gave them a morning full of smiles and fun.
“The first time that I am in a center like this, my mother defeated this disease and I was never able to accompany her to the hospital for her treatments. Fortunately, she defeated cancer and I thank God that she gave us the strength to fight this disease,” said Mauricio, who is a native of San Pedro de Macorís.
Similarly, Mauricio emotionally congratulated the families of the patients who declared themselves victors of this disease and expressed joy for the children who today can declare themselves healthy from this disease that affects millions of people worldwide.
The players and the manager of the blue team enjoyed singing activities, gift giving, photographs, and autograph signings with the children of the aforementioned institute, as well as sharing products from Bon Ice Cream, Choco Wow Cookies, and Frutop Juices, among others.
“We want to thank the Tigres del Licey for having dedicated time from their schedule to come and share with the children of the institute and sow a little joy in the hearts of our little ones. We greatly appreciate their intention to collaborate with our desire that they have an environment in which they do not forget that they are children”, said Dr. José Ramírez, Director of the aforementioned institution.
Club Atlético Licey has turned into a tradition the visit of its players and coaches, accompanied by the Women’s Branch and the Public Relations department, to institutions that need the support and solidarity of the whole society, with which its Tigres del Licey team makes a cause common, with the support of its sponsors.
The glorious blue group develops in the same way throughout the year, other activities in favor of the community through its different programs: “Estudiar es Primero”, “Lee y Aprende”, “El Tour de El Tiguerito”, “Licey Blue Planet”, among others, and visits and donations are made to reception centers for low-income minors, hospitals, nursing homes and others, in which the Ladies of the Women’s Branch, players and the mascot “El Tiguerito” participate.
