The T20 World Cup achieved a record viewership around the world, so many millions of people watched matches on television.

The ICC 2021 T20 World achieved a record audience worldwide and more than 16.77 million people watched it on television. The tournament, which took place five years later, was broadcast for almost 10,000 hours on television and digital platforms in 200 countries.

The number of viewers increased in India, Pakistan, England, Australia and the United States. The India vs Pakistan match was watched for over 15.9 billion minutes on the Star India network in India. This match has become the most watched in the history of T20 Internationals. Previously, the 2016 T20 World Cup semi-final match between India and West Indies was the most watched.

Despite India’s early departure, the tournament in India was watched for more than 112 billion minutes on television. ICC CEO Geoff Allardyce said: “We are happy that the tournament had so many spectators. This shows how popular T20 cricket is.

In the UK, the India-Pakistan party’s audience grew by 60 percent, while the total market audience grew by seven percent. The tournament was broadcast for the first time in Pakistan on three channels PTV, ARY and Ten Sports, and viewership increased 7.3 percent compared to 2016.

It is worth noting that Australia won the 2021 T20 World Cup title. Australia became the T20 champion for the first time. The Kangaroos defeated New Zealand in the final match. Australia had previously defeated Pakistan, who won every match in the Super 12, in the semi-finals.
